Do I need to purchase tickets in advance? Can I pay with cash?

Yes, tickets must be purchased in advance.  Tours often sell out in advance so we suggest purchasing your tickets early to guarantee your desired tour day.  Tickets can be purchased through Zerve online or by calling (800) 979-3370 and using a Visa, Mastercard or AMEX. Cash is not accepted.

Are tours given in bad weather?

Tours are held rain, shine or snow. Please check the weather forecast and dress accordingly for Buffalo’s various seasons.  Don’t forget your umbrella if rain is predicted!

How much food is served on the tour?

The tour includes 6 food tastings, enough for a satisfying lunch for most participants.

What if I have a food allergy or dietary restriction?

When you purchase tickets please let us know if you or anyone in your party has a dietary restriction or food allergy. With advance notice, we will accommodate your needs.

Are beverages included?

Water will be provided at a couple of the stops along the tour, and two tastings include a drink. Feel free to bring your own bottle of water if you would like to have something throughout the tour.

Are vegetarian options available on the tour?

We can provide a vegetarian option at most tasting locations with advance notice. Please be sure to mention your preference for vegetarian options when purchasing your ticket, as we will not be able to arrange for alternative options on the day of the tour.

Where does the tour begin and end?

The exact meeting location will be provided at time of ticket purchase. The end of the tour is within one block of the starting point.

Is parking available near the start of the tour?

Parking is available, but limited in the Elmwood Village. Nearby parking options will be provided with the meeting location details once tickets have been purchased.

Are restrooms available on the tour?

Yes, restrooms will be available at some tasting locations.

How much walking is involved? What is the pace like?

The tour lasts approximately 3 hours and covers just over two miles. We will be on our feet most of the time, sitting at two of the tasting locations for a combined total of about 45 minutes. We walk at a moderate pace, stopping frequently at tasting locations and neighborhood sites.

Do we just walk around and sample food?

No Way!  Throughout this narrated tour we will explore Buffalo’s rich history, architecture and culture.  You will get an up close and personal look at the neighborhood while hearing fascinating facts about its past and present.

Is the tour appropriate for children?

Yes, children may participate in the tour.  However, parents should determine whether or not the tour is appropriate for their child.  Our tour is between 3 and 3.5 hours long and includes lots of walking and standing.  We do offer discounted tickets for adolescents (ages 8-12) and children (ages 7 and under).

Is the tour wheelchair and stroller accessible?

Yes, all the tasting locations on the tour are accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. However, please be aware that this is an historic neighborhood and some of the sidewalks are old and uneven in places.

Can I make purchases on the tour?

It is critical for us that we keep our tours on time to ensure fresh food tastings.  We ask that you refrain from shopping during the tour, so that we may stay on schedule.  Hopefully, you will allow time at the end of the tour to return to your favorite tasting locations or shops.

Are cameras allowed on the tour?

Yes!  We encourage you to take lots of pictures while on your tour.

When is it best to take the tour?

We highly recommend you take this tour at the beginning of your Buffalo visit so you have time to explore the neighborhood on your own and check out all the great places to eat!   Tours do sell out, so please book your tour well in advance for the best chance of getting your preferred date.

Do your tours have anything to offer a native Buffalonian?

Absolutely! While you may be familiar with the neighborhood and the places we eat, you will hear fascinating facts about the neighborhood’s history, architecture, and culture. Buffalo Bites Food Tours is a great activity for you and your out-of-town family and friends as well!

Are tours offered only in English?

Yes, at this time we only offer tours in English.

Does the tour leader accept gratuities?

Gratuities are not included in the ticket price. Gratuities, while not mandatory, are graciously accepted by the tour guides. The standard gratuity in the industry is 15%.

Are pets allowed on the tour?

Due to the policies of various food establishments we visit, pets of any kind are not allowed on the tour.
